Foiled

I was in the mood to fix up a picture frame this week as well as a wine bottle holder. One of my favorite techniques is using this great product called Foil Magic. I bought it at my fave local store.

You can use it in a variety of ways...you can use it with DUO adhesive

or with ZIG 2 way glue pen.

You apply with freehand application and it looks white in the case of the DUO adhesive.

Or blue in the case of the ZIG pen.

You let it dry and it dries completely clear. You then set the sheet of foil with the dull side towards the glue... Shiny side up.

You burnish or rub the foil sheet a bit and voila the foil is completely melded on top of where your glue was.

You can also apply the DUO directly to a rubber stamp and then apply the stamp to your object, and remove. Then let dry again on the object until glue is clear. Then add the foil sheet and burnish like I already described.

****Although, make sure you completely clean off your rubber stamp immediately from all traces of DUO or your stamp is ruined forever!!! I learned that from a class with Kelly.

It is a great way to add foiled metallic finish to almost anything.

Here is the before and after from the wine bottle holder I found at a garage sale.

Here is the completed black picture frame. It looks so much cooler in person than in the photograph.
