Paintings and Pizza

I signed up for an online class with Paulette Insall. I found her on the Creative Souls network created by the lovely Izabella. Sooooo glad to be a part of that network, really inspiring stuff there.
I have never taken a class online before~ hello wave of the future! I think of the super teachers I've met over the years who travel like crazy and how wonderful to be able to teach all over the world in video while staying at home. In the class we have painters from Austraila, Spain, England, Canada and of course all over the US. How fun to think that the Internet means we can all share Paulette's tips and painting instruction at the same time.

So basically you download a video clip, written guide and then share your progress in a flickr group and chat room. She gives feedback if you request it and addresses questions and comments on a blog for the class. **Have I mentioned I'm a huge fan** :)

The first class is a background class, I wanted to get my feet wet about the online class dealio
and so it has been a stress free kinda class for me. This is my progress;

Next month is the Portrait class that will be wonderful, I can't wait!!!!

We have a crazy carb loving dog. She has developed a passion for all things baked. She has snagged many loaves of bread, cookies, brownies and bagels from our counter. To out wit the
Spinone we have been hiding the carbs in the oven. pleeeeeease don't tell her.
Anywhoozie, tonight I was in a real hurry to get the pizza in the oven. I neglected to remove the one hamburger bun that was placed on the top rack of the oven and the plastic package melted all over the "Martha would be proud" pizza. son of a....

Luckily, pizza number two was delish!

ATC'S!!

I just recently purchased the NEW 7 Gypsies ATC Spinner from my fave local store, Frenzy Stamper (http://frenzystamper.com/)

and of course just picked up yesterday the new punch that allows you to make the perfect cut to attach the cards perfectly to the spinner.

I was there at the store yesterday for our monthly ATC swap. It is always such a kick to hear the stories that people relate about "not thinking their stuff is ever good enough" and the thought process behind creating any piece of art! I so adore my group of swapper friends I met.

I recently got a ATC in the mail from someone I greatly admire and think the world of. Here's the ATC and I LOVE IT!!!!!

Finally, Stephanie and I even got to celebrate our recent birthdays and go to lunch together. Even though we live in the same city, share this little artsy blog, and have been friends for 15 years we rarely get to see each other... she ordered some stuff online in March on behalf of both of us, and I just got my half of the order yesterday. Me thinks we need to get together mmmmuch much sooner next time!

Tiara Time

I recently got the book Crowns and Tiaras: Add a Little Sparkle, Glitter & Glamour to Everyday Life and I am soooooo totally hooked on this! I have had a crazy all night Tiara Binge going on.

I haven't had a creative surge like this in a looooong time, I will have to host a swap of Tiaras. (Even though I have sworn off swaps for the time being) Just try to stop me, really it is crazy
how this is such a hit for me. The creative process and the outcome are so enjoyable I can hardly stand it. I think it is nearly every girl's dream at one point or another to have her own Tiara.
Even though someone called them "dust collectors" (GASP!) I got up the nerve to give them away anyhow, thanks Dawn for the pep talk, and guess what, they were a total hit!
These two were made for my sister and her MIL. My sister is expecting so that explains the "Mommy" Tiara, there is even a little nest with a birdy sitting on one egg. Her MIL doesn't want to be called grandma she wants to be called "Honey" how cute is that? My mom also got one with "Mamoo" on hers. I have made a total of 5 Tiaras this week, and next week I don't have nearly as busy a schedule so you guessed it, more Tiaras.
I see no problem in acknowledging royalty everywhere!
Peace out
Princess Stephanie
