Merry Christmas!!!

I have been a crafty critter here in the last few days. I think it is because for the first holiday ever I have all my gifts wrapped up and ready to go. I can't wait till my seesters get their gifts, I'll post a picture after the merriment.
I am so excited for the afterglow, the days between Christmas and New Year's are my favorite time of year. The rush to the holiday is over. Closing the chapter of a year gone by and looking forward to a year full of new experiences.
Hoping peace and joy fill your heart this Christmas and throughout the New Year!

Present to Myself

Merry Christmas to me! There are so many amazing artists out there and friends who's work I admire. Some of you even frequent this little blog... So after reaching a personal goal, I recently decided to treat myself and order up some awesome art from one of the people I admire. I commissioned a chandelier prism necklace from the fabulous Izabella Pierce ( http://izabella.typepad.com/ ) I SO love the Fornasetti Image and here it is in a very cool funky swarovski crystal adorned artistic jewelry creation.

As the famous Michelle Ward says "How cool is that?" I have received lots of compliments on it.

Thanks so much for the necklace Izabella !!!!!

Rubber Stamp Obsession

Have you ever seen a rubber stamp that you absolutely had to have?

You thought that the very existence of having that stamp in your arsenal is crucial to your life? No matter that you have others that are similiar and would work or do the same thing...but that one rubber stamp had something extra...something you had to HAVE. That very thing happened to me 5 years ago when I was first introduced to the art of rubber stamping. Of course, I found out that the stamp was discontinued, out of production, and available pretty much NO WHERE. It was an Inkadinkado Snowman. I have secretly asked for, shopped for, asked at stores out of town, joined yahoo groups that help you search for such a thing, searched eBay and still came up empty handed for 5 years. Until now!!!! I searched on eBay for Inkadinkado Snowman and up comes the very stamp in pristine condition, never been used (oh...the horror!) and now it is in my hot little hands. It even has Jet Black Staz-On already staining the wood!! It might not look like much, but boy I really wanted it. I hate to admit that I increased my bid maximum to $50, just so I would not lose that auction. UGH. Now that would have been really terrible. It only cost $6.99 by the way.

Here is what made me fall in love with the darn stamp in the first place. It is a mahjong tile with a snowman on it...

And then here is the actual scan of the rubberstamp!

SO now I can stamp to my hearts content and make Christmas Necklaces and Christmas Ornaments all day long. Like I have time for that now!!! Even typing this makes me feel foolish. I could not have found something more valuable to me if I tried. It is pretty stinkin' cute, don't you think so???
