Frosting side down! :(

Is this a recipe for disaster? I decided to surprise my dear SIL on Thanksgiving morning with some cinnamon rolls. She had planned to host the dinner but her kiddos got sick. I knew how hard she had worked and I thought perhaps these rolls could be an unexpected delight. I was up late watching the dough rise and up at dawn to shmear them with brown sugar and butter. They were so beautiful when they came out of the oven, I swear I heard a chorus of baking angels sing! As I was loading the car they slid out of the pan and onto the floor. Now, for those of you that bake, how unusual is it that a pan of cinnamon rolls don't stick?? Just a tad??? Perhaps this means no need for the holiday cinnamon air freshener, the hallway still smells like cinnamon! I really hope it's the thought that counts.~Stephanie

Fishing and felt?

Here is a little doo-dad I just completed. It is a recycled
mint container wrapped in poly clay with my favorite charms
by Art Girls. I love the colors and textures of the charms with
their delightful felt pieces. I've never really considered myself a "felty" but there is something especially yummy about the die
cuts they have. The fishing lures were just hollering to be used.
I have purchased a bunch of them in all sizes and colors, I guess
it was about time to put them to use.
I love the message, Don't Panic! Everyone can use a little reminder. I think she'll hang in my car. ~Stephanie

I was so tickled to get the current issue of Art Freak a Zine.

Carol Parks, the real deal Art Freak has created this delightful

Zine. In the past I've purchased some and found I was disappointed a few seemed like some pages copied and maybe a ribbon.

Carol's Zine is really hand crafted, I tried to figure out how long it must

take her to put one together, the effort is worth it darlin. The latest issue has a great article on packing for an artsy excursion. It left me

thinking duh..... why didn't I think of that! I can't wait to put the ideas to use. Now to find the right classes, too bad Art Fest was already full. whaaa haaaa haaa The photo shows the fun goodies included in the back of each AF issue. She even provides a tea bag!

Carol, you have really inspired me, thank you ~Steph

Rubber Stamp Show

There was a Rubber Stamp Show this past weekend here in Mesa. It was the best one in AZ in a long time. (note: It can not compare to the awesome Original Rubberstamp Convention in Carson, CA although) There was great demos, a live artist trading card exchange, and tons of make n takes. My favorite stuff is here... Kat Okamoto, Stamptress Extraordinare from A Stamp In The Hand made me an awesome card upper left hand corner! Cool huh!

Altered Book

This is from an altered book I've been working in. ;)
It was done with watercolor crayons and pastels.

I am broken hearted that some of my swap mail
must have been lost. I entered an Art-e-Zine cabinet card swap, my cards did not make it to their destination, weird. It got me thinking, what if someone did get them by mistake?
What must they have thought? Altered cabinet cards and some ephermera for the host as well,
Did they think it was fun? Did it inspire a creative stir for them? Did they pitch it in le garbage?
Will they send it back in my SASE? hmmmmm

*I think there is a lesson learned in everything,
I didn't scan or photgraph them because they
were to be posted on Art-e-Zine so I thought,
why bother? They'll be posted with all that lovely
background stuff Gillian does and I can pull them
from there. **Scan or photo your stuff before
you send it away!

I am delighted to report that my cleaning excercise has begun, I recieved two very cool ATC's in exchange for some of my ephemera and
charms I've been hoarding. YaY! I hope the ladies like what I packed up for them.

We had a huge family birthday party last night, I
love having a large group over and hearing the
rolling roars of laughter fill the rooms and spill outdoors. Time to go wade through the wrapping paper. peace~ SW
